HAVE FLIGHT ESSENTIALS/DOCUMENTS IN A SEPARATE BAG
It’s advisable to have all flight and travel documents in a separate bag; hand luggage is preferable for easy access and presentation when needed.
Make sure you have all the correct boarding passes and travel documents to be presented if requested at the security checkpoints and at boarding gates.
There are some items that are highly needed while on an airplane and it’ll be highly frustrating to have to search for any of those items when the need arises. Items like earplugs, nose masks, hand sanitizers, a book, a bottle of water, a snack, etc.
This bag has to be very small in order to fit under your seat. Just be sure that none of these in-flight items will create an issue with security.
EARLY ARRIVAL
You may be asking, “doesn’t this cause unnecessary congestion at the airport?” Early arrival at the airport reduces confusion, and disorganization and helps you identify any booking error before boarding time. Before flight departure, you have to g through security and screening which would require that you get in long queues. Probably remove shoes, belts, and other items for effective screening. This takes time and it’s advisable to arrive 2 to 3 hours before your flight.
Having some hours ahead gives you room to calmly follow all laid down procedures and maybe room to have a few minutes to browse the airport’s gift shops before your flight is announced.
NEVER LET LUGGAGE OUT OF SIGHT
Especially when it isn’t locked. It is also important to leave a prominent mark on your luggage too for easy identification. There have been more than enough cases of lost, misplaced, or switched luggage. To make it easier, if you can afford to go for customized suitcases, then do it. If you can’t, you may have to tie your handles with bright-colored ribbons or tags.
