  • Flying (either real or simulator weather dependent)

On completion of this course you can  further your training to the full course and apply for PfCO (Permission for Commercial Operations) from the CAA (Civil Aviation Authority) if you plan on taking your new hobby into a commercial role.

FULL PFCO COURSE (3 DAYS)

This 3 day course is aimed at people with no recognised flying qualification eg. BMFA ‘A’ certificate or better on helicopters, a British Gliding Association Bronze ‘C’ or better, or a Private Pilot’s Licence.

Included in the course is our high quality 200 page manual which covers in detail all of the CAA syllabus and more. Subjects covered are :

  • Air Law
  • Legislation, Regulation and Policy
  • Classes of Airspace
  • Aeronautical Chart Information
  • Air Safety

The above is not a complete list, we cover more than is required by the CAA.

  • 3 day Ground School (CAA syllabus and more).
  • Buffet lunches
  • A free resit of the Ground School Examination (if needed)
  • Two part flight Assessment
  • Assistance with your application to CAA for PfCO.
  • Review and guidance of your OPS manual.
  • Skeye will provide a recommendation to CAA for the issue of PfCO on successful completion of the course.

In addition to the course you will need insurance for both the flight test and your CAA application.

PILOTS COURSE

This is aimed at holders of British Gliding Association Bronze ‘C’
or better or a Private Pilot’s Licence (CPL and ATPL accepted).

We will guide you through your operations manual creation and the submission process. Flight tests are also included.

It should be noted there are considerable merits in still doing a full course; full sized aviation theory doesn’t cover all of the finer points of drone operation covered in the full course theory.

BMFA COURSE

Aimed at BMFA ‘A’ certificate holders only.

With the BMFA ‘A’ certificate for helicopters the CAA requirement for theory and practical training is NIL i.e. you don’t need to do any form of training.

Our BMFA Area Chief Examiner knows the shortfalls in theoretical knowledge and has written this short course to fill in the gaps.

Included with the course

  • Student Manual
  • Ops Manual Support

CAA Submission

FLIGHT TESTS

If you have already completed your theory course and operations manual or have an exemption from the CAA we can conduct your flight test.

We will do a very short assessment of your theoretical knowledge before proceeding with your flight test.
